The workshop takes inspiration from ancient practices in Arabic culture. Participants will use their imagination to mould a ball of clay into a jug that can be used for decoration or daily use.
The workshop takes inspiration from ancient practices in Arabic culture. Participants will use their imagination to mould a ball of clay into a jug that can be used for decoration or daily use.
Participants can sketch and carve the piece, giving their personal touch to create a modern or contemporary take on the traditional jug. The journey the ball of clay takes to create each unique piece is depicted by the temperament of the person and the hands moulding it, the finished result is a bespoke piece of art.
The pieces are then fired in the kiln and glazed to create a ceramic piece. The participants can celebrate their finished pieces after three days.
No prior experience necessary. Free to attend.
